Vincent

Restoring a craftsman bungalow to create a healing environment that revolves around community.

A Deeply Personal Project

Vincent was always meant to be a house of healing — my early visions were of a warm + welcoming jewel box we could share with our community. A place where nature could flourish and dogs could roam.

Mark + I purchased Vincent in 2021 knowing it was a major fixer: the paint was falling off, the electrical was outdated, the floor featured wall-to-wall shag carpet in chartreuse, and the walls were every shade of pink (the previous owner’s favorite color). Beloved by her neighbors, she’d lived in this home since 1968 and raised her 8 children here. We knew we wanted to honor her legacy in our updates. Naturally, we chose a pink Nomadic Vintage rug for the living room: the heart of the house.

In every room, furniture is designed to create communal, convertible spaces. This includes the Pavilion in the backyard — our PNW take on the Italian arbor — intended to be flexible for any manner of event, from curated dinner party to outdoor yoga retreat. Inside, we collaborated with stained glass artist Dani Collette to celebrate the history of the home and complement the original, unpainted wood trim. The butterfly and fern motifs represent our intention to create a transformative space where visitors can relax + unfurl themselves in open, airy comfort. Likewise, it’s been our great joy to watch the house itself transform, and an even greater joy to share Vincent with others. Our work is not yet done — we have big plans!

We’re not done yet!

This project is still ongoing. Stay tuned for more to love upstairs as we transform the second floor into a dreamy spa & sauna.
